Pro Bono

At EBN, we place great emphasis on our firm’s involvement in promoting and protecting social causes. Our steadfast goal is to aid society’s underprivileged and underserved populations and promote values we strongly believe in, including the protection of human rights, equality, and personal liberties. We take great pride in the dedication of our partners, associates, interns and staff in an array of pro bono cases, including representation before all legal instances and governmental entities, as well as in the numerous volunteering initiatives we partake in benefiting the underprivileged, elderly, and sick.

We are ranked by several ranking guides for being one of the leading law firms in pro bono and volunteering activities:

We are representing a person with disabilities before the High Court of Justice, who was employed by a State owned protected factory, seeking recognition of his status as an employee. The petition has a great importance for advancing the rights of persons with disabilities and their equal treatment in the workplace.
We provide ongoing legal representation and assistance to NGOs that support the LGBTQ community, e.g., the Aguda - The Association for LGBTQ Equality and the Jerusalem Open House.
Darca Schools is committed to providing equal educational opportunities for youth and teens in Israel’s underserved periphery. Our late senior partner Amnon Sorek, of blessed memory, was a member of the board of governors of the organization. As part of our efforts to continue his legacy, our firm’s real estate department has “adopted” a class at the Ashkelon Darca School. In this activity, our team gives the students select classes on legal topics and other matters.
We cooperate with the international organization HIAS, and together with other leading law firms we provide legal aid to asylum seekers and refugees around the world in deportation proceedings instigated against them. With the onset of the war in Ukraine in 2022, we came to the assistance of refugees that fled to Israel from Ukraine only to be confronted with restrictions and even prohibitions on entry (most of them with a clear nexus to Israel; children, women, and elderly). Thus, we assisted 22 refugees as well as having represented refugees in a precedent setting case where the judgment has positively impacted the rights of all refugees.
We provide ongoing representation and legal services to “180°”, a NGO promoting the rights of persons with disabilities through sports and inclusion in society.
We provide ongoing representation and legal services to the One Million Lobby, promoting and assisting the Russian speaking community in Israel on issues related to the elderly, holocaust survivors, social and economic security and more.
We provide ongoing representation and legal services to Helek NGO – promoting and advocating volunteering in the community by younger generations.
We are very involved in supporting the activities of the Tel Aviv University clinic for the rights of Holocaust survivors and the elderly
We represented a resident in a geriatric old age home in a claim to prevent her eviction and the eviction of other residents in the home.
We represented several elderly women in the liquidation proceedings at the Haifa District Court, of a company that consistently exploited their elderly and vulnerable clients. Our efforts in this case saw our clients, together with other clients of that company, be awarded NIS 700,000 of their swindled funds back.
We represented an elderly woman in litigation proceedings against a company selling ‘insurance’ for household appliances, which swindled her out of tens of thousands of shekels.
We provide ongoing representation and legal services to the SEL Challenge (SEL – Social Emotional Learning), a national competition for start-ups and technological ventures targeting education and designed to promote and empower education in the State of Israel.
We assist “Fresh Start” organization in legal proceedings in which a new insolvency law is being implemented and enforced against debtors that fall below the poverty line.
We support and provide services to “Yemin Orde” Youth Village and its graduates, most of whom are new immigrants to the country. As part of our support, attorneys and legal interns from the firm guide and accompany the school’s students in debate competitions.
We partake in the legal practicum training operated by Kav Mashve, which develops employment leadership in the Israeli Arab society. As part of the training program, partners and associates from our firm serve as mentors to several students from the Arab society, accompanying and guiding them in the performance of legal tasks.
As part of our cooperation with I-School NGO, volunteers from our firm coach on an ongoing basis and tutor elementary school pupils in Dimona in their math and English studies.
As part of our cooperation with the ‘Closing Ranks’ NGO, partners in our firm provide personal mentoring, coaching and empowerment for young adolescents lacking family support after they complete their military or national service.

We cooperate with The Israel’s Women’s Network (IWN), where our teams undertake representation in cases promoting and advocating for women’s rights and equality.
Team members of our firm often undertake case assignments under the Israel Bar Association ‘Pro Bono’ program, primarily representing populations unable to afford legal representation, in debt related cases and contractual disputes.
